The 2021 Agents & Editors Conference (September 17-19) marks our 28th conference and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome more than 200 attendees, authors, and publishing professionals to Austin once again for one of the best conference experiences available to writers.This year, for the first time, we are offering both an in-person and a virtual registration option. Our Virtual All Access registrants will be able to enjoy a livestream of the event on Saturday and Sunday, plus a one-on-one consultation with an agent or editor (optional). In addition, all virtual and in-person attendees will be invited to special pre-conference live webinars the week before the event – the chance to meet other writers, learn valuable tips for pitching a project, and hear published authors and their book editors discuss specific genres.
The WLT’s Agents & Editors Conference is one of the nation’s premier conferences for writers. Every year, we bring together nationally-known literary agents and book editors and other industry professionals with writers at all stages of the writing process for a weekend of conversation and community around the craft of writing and the practical steps toward publication.
For writers with finished manuscripts, the conference’s one-on-one consultations with agents and editors offer a unique opportunity to pitch their work directly to publishing professionals.
For writers working toward a completed manuscript, the conference’s genre meet-ups, panels, presentations, and general sessions offer an abundance of useful information and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere for informal chats with agents, published authors, and fellow writers from all genres and backgrounds.
Our 2021 Agents & Editors Conference marks our first in-person event since early 2020 and we are excited to gather together again as a community. Because we also understand that not everyone will be able to attend in person, we’ve added a virtual registration option to this year’s event in the hopes of bringing the weekend’s valuable programming to as many writers as possible.
