Scouts are invited to join the Sons of the American Revolution Pittsburgh Chapter to a highly visible and important ceremony on Saturday, May 31st, 2025 in Lawrenceville, PA.The SAR Pittsburgh Chapter will conduct a special ceremony commemorating the 200th anniversary of the visit of the Marquis de Lafayette to Pittsburgh. There will be several color guard groups, special dignitaries, and honorary guests attending.
This will be the largest public event that our chapter has conducted in decades. We will be hosting the French Consul and will be presenting and posting the colors at the site of Lafayette's Pittsburgh visit at Arsenal Park in Lawrenceville.
The chapter will be presenting a posthumous award to Lafayette accepted on his behalf by the French Consul. We anticipate many members of the French Alliance and French Cultural Center will attend and many other veteran, civic, and patriotic organizations. Please let me know if local media is interested in partnering with us on this historic event.
