As a part of the Winter Community Cinema programme at The Pyramid at Anderston, we are excited to announce our next event: the screening of “2000 Meters to Andriivka” - a film by Mstyslav Chernov.

This screening is organised in collaboration wth shevchenko.philia - a non-profit voluntary organisation that creates cultural events around Scotland to raise money for people affected by russian war in Ukraine.

2000 METERS TO ANDRIIVKA: In a companion piece to his Oscar®-winning documentary 20 Days in Mariupol (PSIFF 2024), director Mstyslav Chernov returns to Ukraine’s front lines in this unflinching account of one platoon’s trek to liberate Andriivka. Along with capturing the immediacy of the battlefield, Chernov shapes the film into an existential reckoning, where the platoon’s steady march toward this strategic destination is juxtaposed against the war’s no-end-in-sight horror. As propulsive as it is contemplative about the ongoing battle against Russian aggression, 2000 Meters to Andriivka is an unmissable account of Ukrainian resistance.

Trigger warning: 2000 Meters to Andriivka contains intense and unfiltered footage from the front lines of the war in Ukraine. The film includes scenes of active combat, gunfire, explosions, injuries, death, and the immediate aftermath of violence. Viewers will encounter graphic imagery, emotional distress, and themes of trauma, loss, and survival. The film also includes strong language and moments of extreme tension. This documentary may be distressing for some audiences, particularly those sensitive to war violence or personal trauma. Viewer discretion is strongly advised.

Tickets can also be bought on-the-door by card or cash on the day, subject to availability.

Unreserved seating. If you have any access requirements, please contact so we can make arrangements. Our venue is fully accessible, and we can supply a free carer’s ticket.

Supported by Film Hub Scotland, part of the BFI’s Film Audience Network, awarding funding on behalf of Screen Scotland and the BFI National Lottery.
