It all started in 1824 - Britain's first bus service was started, by local tollkeeper John Greenwood, between Pendleton and Manchester. So to celebrate the bicentenary we're running a series of amazing events through this year to mark 200 years of buses.
The last event will be Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow - bringing the story up to date as we transition from deregulation to Bee Network, with buses old and new on site to wrap up a year of celebration. There'll be special displays and free heritage bus rides using buses from our amazing collection plus some of our friends. And on Saturday 9 November, we'll run a 'twilight' free bus timetable so you can ride on a photograph buses in the dark.
