A multi-course dinner borne from the food grown in our gardens across London - connect over food while supporting a good cause
About this Event

Come take part in our 20th anniversary fundraising supper club series, and enjoy delicious food and drink in our beautiful urban community garden space, Paper Garden, in South London.

Global Generation is an environmental educational charity based in London that co-creates gardens with the local community and runs programming for young people. In 2024 we turn 20 and we celebrate with a fundraising supper club series to support our upcoming community build of our first permanent garden at the Triangle Site in Kings Cross.

Each event will focus on an element of the work we do as an organisation, whether that is sustainable building, urban organic growing or working with youth and communities. As growing fresh produce on our sites and outdoor cooking are a huge part of what we do, we have also asked all our chefs to craft vegetarian menus that include innovative fire based cooking in our cob oven and on our outdoor fire pits.

This second event, running from 6 - 10 p.m. will be an exploration of the way Global Generation interacts with food, preparing, preserving, cooking and eating together to foster connections and facilitate learning. Guests will be invited to explore their place in the ecosystem while savouring delicious food grown in our home gardens and across our sites in schools and community spaces in London. After the dinner there will be a raffle to close out the evening, music and a bar for those who wish to extend the night.

What to expect

  • A series of prompts and activities encouraging connection with ourselves, our communities and our planet
  • A delicious multi-course vegetarian meal prepared by our community chefs, Chaneti and Diva. This is paired with wine or non-alcoholic beverage selection.
  • An entry into that evening's raffle to win a selection of prizes

The set menu will accommodate for allergies and dietaries disclosed in advance. If you or your guests have any dietary restrictions, please include them on the booking form.

Tickets

  • Subsidised ticket £40
  • Standard ticket £60
  • Pay it forward £80

We have a dedicated campaign raising funds to support the build of our new permanent garden, currently called the Triangle Site in Kings Cross. From our sustainable community build and green skills young trainee programme to our future food forest, you can help us make this build our best one yet and support the organisation to flourish in the future.

About the Chefs

Chaneti

Since becoming a chef, Chaneti always worked in professional kitchens, but working at Global Generation and the Story Garden has given her the opportunity to use her skills and knowledge, to connect and grow with this amazing community. It has been so rewarding to cook and eat the produce that she and her amazing families and participants have grown and nurtured.

Diva Garg

Diva prefers adjectives and verbs over nouns to describe her existence. Hence, she grows, cooks, preserves, ferments, and daydreams about food; writes poetry and photographs on an analogue camera; creates and manages experiences, all with the deep desire to love and care for the planet and all its entities at the core of her life.

About the Space:

The Paper Garden is a community garden and learning space located in Southwark. The Big Jarrah is our community built classroom space, the largest circular design build and cordwood structure in London! The closest transit points are Surrey Quays overground and Canada Water Station. Local buses that stop nearby include: 47, 188, 381, C10, P12.

Accessibility
Accessibility: There is a ramp to enter the building and two accessible toilets on site. There are uneven paths throughout the garden area. Please include any specific access questions or requests in your order form.

About Global Generation:

Global Generation is an environmental education charity with garden sites located throughout London. We offer activities such as urban food growing, supporting bees, carpentry, cooking, storytelling, creative writing, performance and more. We aim to create the conditions for people to come together, connect with themselves, others and their local area and to practically and creatively contribute to ecological and social change. Follow our instagram for regular updates on our activity.

Waitlist & Cancellations

We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment and have a waitlist that is triggered automatically when we reach capacity. Refunds can only be processed with two weeks notice and any Eventbrite platform fees are not refundable. We will do our best to reallocate your ticket if you are no longer able to attend but if we are unable to do so, then your ticket will go towards the costs of the event and be a donation to the charity itself.

If you have any questions regarding accessibility or the event as a whole, please get in touch at [email protected]
