As the founder of the influential 22a label and leader of Ruby Rushton, his music traverses spiritual jazz, funk, broken-beat, and South Asian classical traditions. From his groundbreaking collaboration with Lahore’s Jaubi Ensemble to performances at London’s Ronnie Scott’s with his chanelling of the great Tubby Hayes. Tenderlonious is acclaimed for bringing fire, finesse, and fearless imagination to the stage.
Sharing the spotlight is Nick Walters, one of the UK’s most distinctive trumpeters and composers. Known for his work with the Paradox Ensemble, Beats & Pieces Big Band, and Ruby Rushton, Walters’s music spans cosmic jazz voyages and groove-infused modal explorations. His recent albums Singularity and Marine Moods have won widespread praise for their adventurous spirit and deep lyricism. Together, Tenderlonious and Walters have built a reputation for electric interplay—balancing intensity with subtlety, groove with space.
They will be joined by the RhythmEarth Trio, whose earthy, percussive soundscapes and global rhythmic sensibilities make them the perfect foil for this stellar pairing.
