Do you want to take your carpentry and woodwork skills to the next level??Always wanted to know how to use certain power tools?
Have you ever felt intrigued and wanted to use power tools but didn't quite know where to start?
We have exciting news! We are now running this short one day course as an introduction to 2 power tools that will enable you to make things at home way more easily.
In this 1 day course you will make a planter / raised veg bed from recycled pallet wood while learning how to use 2 important power tools. You will be able to transfer what you have learnt to other projects at home, or just make lots and lots of planters or raised beds for the garden or the allotment!
You will be inducted and learn the use of :
- the mitre saw
- the combi drill / impact driver
We will be learning at the TouchWood South West Workshop, which is a fully equipped workshop with the necessary dust extraction for the machinery.
There will only be 6 places on this course, which means that you will have plenty of attention from the 2 tutors and access to all the machines needed!
This course is suitable for you if you are a complete beginner or have used hand tools in woodwork before.
If you have been on one of our carpentry courses, this course would be a great next step, although it's not a pre-requisite.
All materials are included and PPE (personal protective equipment) will be provided.
If you already have your own PPE ( dust mask, ear defenders), then please bring this along.
Please make sure to wear sturdy shoes!
If you have any power tools of your own, you are welcome to bring them along and we will go over them and show you how to use them in a safe way.
