Get ready for an exciting and hands-on adventure as Stacy leads the group through a dynamic, immersive two-day workshop! Dive into the world of surface decoration techniques, where slip becomes a stunning visual and textural element that brings functional pottery to life. Stacy will share her expertise on everything from slip preparation to slip trailing, coloring, texturizing, mishima, sgraffito, faux water etching, stencils, creating your own silkscreens, and underglaze transfers. By the end of the workshop, you'll have an expansive library of techniques to supercharge your creative journey!Skill Level - This workshop covers surface decoration, so having basic clay skills is required. Suitable for handbuilders or wheel throwers alike. 18 years old and above.
What you will need to bring:
Apron, Towel, Basic pottery tools, 3-4 pieces of your own leather hard work to decorate. Work may be left at the studio for a complementary bisque firing.
The studio will provide practice slabs of clay and all other materials.
