How to get ready for swimming in open water, acclimatizing to cold water.
Working through all the mechanics for OW swimming and maximizing efficiency with your swim stroke.
How to swim around the buoy, how to sight in open water, and how to control your breathing.
How to stay calm and stay focused through out your event and being a able to navigate through the course
What are the Triathlon BC Rules for swimming? wet suit or no wet suit?

Directions – Put White Pine Beach into Maps or Google Maps. White Pine Beach is at Sasamat Lake in Belcarra Park. Follow the road signs to təmtəmíxʷtən/Belcarra Regional Park White Pine Beach.
Pay parking is in effect.
Parking lot B is the closest to the beach.
Prerequisites:
Suitable for anyone who is doing their first open water swim, or triathlon, returning back to the sport.
Must be able to swim 400m comfortably . Wetsuit not required, but suggested, as the water may still be a bit cold in June.
Things to bring – a friend and courage! water, snacks, towel, goggles & swim cap.
Sasamat lake has washrooms available and paid parking starts at 10am.
