Love literature & sharing with others? Our next Coordinator Training Workshop may be the introduction to meaningful part time work for you.
About this Event

Literature has the power to transport an audience to another time and place, conveying life lessons through complex characters, intricate themes, and multiple points of view. But who owns literature? And, more importantly… Who has access to it?

Since 1972, People & Stories / Gente y Cuentos has believed and demonstrated that literature belongs to us all, and can benefit us all, including those with low literacy and those who face obstacles to the joys of independent reading. Our next 2-Part Coordinator Training workshop in English will take place on Thursday, October 24 and Friday October 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Attendance at both days is required.

This comprehensive 2-day training will be held at 475 Wall Street, Princeton, New Jersey. Full materials, light lunch, snacks and beverages provided.

Coordinators receive generous stipends for their important work, once fully trained and approved. (Several "mock sessions" where you present stories with others in your training group, an 8-week "shadow" training program where you accompany an experienced coordinator are additional required training following this two-day workshop)

Once you're fully trained and approved, you may have opportunities to coordinate several programs (consisting of 8- or 10-week 90-minute sessions) in a variety of locations of your choice including senior centers, community centers, rehabilitation facilities, prisons, and others.

Attendance at a 90-minute “Try It” event or as a participant in previous programs is one of the prerequisites for registration for this 2-day workshop.
