2ª Feria Gastronómica y Cultural

The Rhizome Center for Migrants será el anfitrión del 2ª Feria Gastronómica y Cultural el domingo 22 de septiembre de 1:30pm a 5:30pm en el hermoso Edificio Arróniz en el Centro Histórico.

Todos los años organizamos una feria gastronómica y cultural el Día del Migrante un día en el que reconocemos e invitamos a celebrar las historias experiencias y cultura de todas las personas que "no son de aquí". Ya sea de aquí o de allá le invitamos a venir con sus amigos y familiares a participar en este ambiente cariñoso en el que todos pueden sentirse como en casa.

El festival es un evento benéfico a favor de los migrantes y refugiados que atraviesan se establecen o regresan a esta ciudad. La entrada es únicamente con boleto y DEBE adquirirse antes del evento a cambio de un donativo de $275 pesos.

Su boleto de entrada de $275 pesos incluye:

-Música en vivo a cargo de la banda franco-cumbiana AGATHE;

-Lista de reproducción seleccionada personalmente y donada por el gran Manu de Jamaica Records;

-8 degustaciones de más de 15 opciones de comida internacional incluyendo Vietnam la India Colombia Siria Palestina Venezuela Jamaica y Perú (muchos de los vendedores son de la red de mujeres migrantes Caminantas coorganizadora del evento);

-Actividades de pintura y juegos;

-Talleres gratuitos de elaboración de artesanía wixárika (huichol) con chaquiras y origami;

-Espectáculo de danza tradicional de la India; y

-Entrada a “Travesías” una exposición de arte especialmente seleccionado sobre la migración local y un primer intento de documentar fotográficamente las comunidades emergentes de la ciudad.

El 100% de las ganancias del evento se destinarán a las siguientes causas:

-la población de Gaza;

-los pueblos indígenas migrantes;

-mujeres migrantes y refugiadas que se asientan hoy en la ciudad;

-personas que se enfrentan a la adicción tras décadas de traumas y violencia relacionados con la migración;

-y personas retornadas y deportadas de Estados Unidos.

The Rhizome Center for Migrants will host this year’s 2nd International Food+Culture Fest on Sunday Sept 22th from 1:30pm - 5:30pm at the gorgeous Edificio Arróniz in the Historic Center.

We host an International Food+Culture Fest each year on Migrant Day a day in which we acknowledge and invite you to celebrate the histories experiences and culture of all people who are “not from here”. Whether de aquí o de allá we invite you to come out with your friends and family to take part in this nurturing environment where everyone can feel at home at last.

All admission tickets must be pre-sold. These are the rules of the venue. A donation of 275 MXN will get you a ticket to the festival a charity event benefiting the migrants and refugees who traverse settle in or return to this city.

Your admission ticket includes:

-Live music by the French-cumbian band AGATHE;

-Handpicked playlist gifted by the great Manu of Jamaica Records;

-8 tastings from 15+ international food options including Vietnam India Colombia Syria Palestine Venezuela Jamaica and Peru—many of the vendors are from the migrant women’s network Caminantas a co-organizer of the event;

-Painting activities and games;

-Free wixárika beadmaking and origami workshops;

-Traditional Indian dance performance; and

-Admission to “Travesías” a specially-curated art exhibit on local migration and a first-attempt to photographically document the city’s emerging communities.

100% of the proceeds from the event will benefit the following causes:

-the people of Gaza;

-migrant indigenous people;

-women migrants and refugees settling in the city today;

-people coping with addiction after decades of migration-related trauma and violence; and

-people returned and deported from the United States.
