1st Saturday Sweat Lodge Lodge Pourers:
Colby Mc Lemore & Teresa McKee
Fire Keeper:
Katy Carris
The fire will start at 10 am and we will go into the lodge when the stones are hot (usually around noon). You are encouraged to come early and prayerfully prepare for the lodge and to visit the Peace Sound Chamber.
After the October lodge potluck there will be an October Bonfire so plan to stick around if you are able! This will be a fun bonfire as we burn old logs, branches, and sticks from the property. Some people are also planning to camp in the Meadow afterwards; bring camping gear if you would like to stay overnight. Please see the Bonfire event for more details.
Suggested Items to bring for the Sweat Lodge:
* Two Towels
* Please dress modestly for this ceremony! We do not allow nudity.
*Women, please wear a long skirt/dress that covers the shoulders. The circle of the skirt symbolizes the circle of life.
* Men can wear shorts, swim trunks, or a skirt.
*Change of clothing
*Covered dish for the potluck afterwards.
Note: The kitchen downstairs will be open and refrigeration available. The kitchen is off the breezeway. (Please to not go to the front door of the house. It is a private residence).
It is appropriate to bring tobacco, a small gift, or a monetary gift for the fire-keeper and lodge master who offer their services to the people as a gift.
We use lots of wood for the fire; supplies like herbs (sage, tobacco, cornmeal, etc.); drinking water; and more. If you are feeling abundant, a donation ($10-$20) would be appreciated. Donations are used to support the Sweat Lodge and the Dance Away Program.
There is never a charge for Ceremony. If you are not feeling abundant, PLEASE do not allow this to prevent you from coming.
The road to the Meadow is the first driveway/road on right after the Center For Peace sign.
After the potluck, please visit the Center For Peace Gift Shop for crystals, healing stones, jewelry, and artisan gifts and books.
