Pamplin Historical Park is a Civil War privately owned 424 acre campus with four museums, three historic homes and encompasses the Breakthrough Battlefield of April 2, 1865 near Petersburg VA. This event is a Living History for the public held at one of the crown jewels of civil war history ! Camping Type: Garrison Camping – A-frames, Tent flies, Shelter Tents / Winter Quarters AND/OR authentic camp around military area (next to the Battlefield Center).
Uniform: CS – 1864 (See uniform guidelines below)

Friday, March 28
Arrive NO earlier than 2PM Check in at Hart House, See Site staff.
Set camps in designated areas, either at cabin area or authentic military camp behind museum.
Those camping in the “authentic” may use the HQ parking lot to DROP off gear, but will need to park at the Hart Barn

10:00-10:30 Infantry Demonstration CS
Reenactors/living historians will provide a demonstration highlighting the uniforms, gear, equipment, and maneuvers of Confederate infantry.
11:00-12:00 Defend the Works: Combined Arms in the Siege of Petersburg Location: Earthwork Exhibit
Reenactors/ living historians will demonstrate the assault and defense of Civil War field fortifications and the use of combine infantry and artillery.
12:00-TBA CS Camp life. Location: Military encampment
Living Historians will be cooking rations, repairing uniforms, writing letters, playing games of the period or other activities associated with life in an era camp
2:30-3:00 pm Infantry Demonstration CS Location: Earthwork Exhibit
Reenactors/living historians will provide a demonstration highlighting the uniforms, gear, equipment, and maneuvers of Confederate infantry.
3:00–3:30 pm Norfolk Light Blues and the Breakthrough Location: Earthwork Exhibit
Artillery Reenactors: Experience the men of the Norfolk Light Artillery Blues, a battery of big guns from Virginia caught up in the maelstrom of the Breakthrough. Join us as we hear words of the gunners themselves from descendants describing service in the army and that fateful morning in 1865.

Directions:
Via I-40/I-85 North: Take I-40 East and then I-85 North toward Petersburg VA. Exit I-85 at exit 61 – Blackstone. At bottom of exit ramp, merge right onto Airport Street. At next traffic light turn left onto Boydton Plank Rd/US-1 N/US-460 E. You will drive PAST the main entrance to Pamplin Historical Park and turn right onto VA-670 / Duncan Road. Continue on VA-670/Duncan Road for 1.1 miles. Hart Farm will be on left.
Via I-95 North: Take I-95 North toward Petersburg VA. At Peterburg, take exit 51 to merge onto I-85 South. In 4.5 miles, exit I-85 S at exit 63A and merge onto US-1 S/US-460 E/Boydton Plank Rd. In about 1.9 miles, turn left onto VA-670 / Duncan Road. Continue on VA-670/Duncan Road for 1.1 miles. Hart Farm will be on left.
