PARTY WITH A PURPOSE: The 1st Annual MY Housewarming Awards Gala provides a unique platform to raise awareness and funds for mental health.Join us for our inaugural event, the "1st Annual MY Housewarming Awards: An Unconventional Gala and Fundraising Event," set to take place on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
At The Morris-Young Legacy House, Inc., our mission is to prevent mental health crises in underserved communities throughout Los Angeles County. The 1st Annual MY Housewarming Awards Gala provides a unique platform to raise awareness and funds for our cause while celebrating individuals whose contributions have positively impacted our community.
During this unconventional gala, we'll honor three exceptional individuals with awards for their significant contributions:
1. **The Architect Award** : Recognizing visionary leadership in advancing mental health initiatives. Recipient: Carlton "Epic" Roberts, Social Entrepreneur
- This award will be presented to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and innovation in promoting mental health initiatives within our community.
2. **The Blueprint Award** : Honoring vulnerability and authenticity as beacons of hope for others. Recipient: Dr. Maliek Blade, Counselor & Mental Health Entrepreneur
- This award will be presented to an individual who has shown courage, vulnerability, and authenticity in sharing their mental health journey and inspiring others to do the same.
3. **The Tia M. Morris Spirit Foundation Award** : Paying tribute to boundless compassion and empowerment. Recipient: Precious McGill, Spiritual Advisor & Beauty Entreprenuer
- This award, named in honor and memory of our Founding Mother, Captain Tia M. Morris, embodies the spirit of community, achievement, advocacy, perseverance, family, and love. It will be presented to an individual who has displayed boundless compassion and dedication to empowering others in their mental health journey.
Monies raised will go towards providing mental health services for our underserved communities of Los Angeles County.
