Looking to expand your swim technique & endurance? Train with us for a 1 mile swim (freestyle). This is a non beginner training program, so you will need to already know how to do the freestyle swim. However, your pace can be "slow" & your confidence "low" - we'll help with those.
Our training is designed so that if you wish be ready for the Duke's 1 mile ocean swim on August 24, this works perfectly with it. However, that's up to you. Do the event or do the training only!
We'll work on pacing for long swims, sighting & navigating swells & other swimmers, technique & the mental portion of open water swimming.
You do not need to be able to swim 1 mile at the start, but you should be able to swim at least 500meters (even if that's taking shorts breaks or incorporating other swim strokes).
DETAILS:
Every other Saturday 9am starting July 6 (& 20, Aug 3 & 17)
Alternate weeks Tuesdays at 5:45pm starting July 9 (& 23, Aug 6)
We'll meet sometimes at Ala Moana beach & sometimes at Kaimana or Queen's beaches.
