As an outgrowth of the 55 by 25 initiative, 1A is proud to announce a new suite of activities called One Acadiana ConnectEd, which leverage 1A’s unique role in the workforce ecosystem as a connector of business and education.Join us as we share more about One Acadiana ConnectEd and dive into the key strategy of expanding work-based learning opportunities such as internships and apprenticeships.
This event will bring together local school systems, business leaders, and community stakeholders to highlight successful work-based learning programs and provide practical information on building partnerships between business and education to strengthen career education and workforce development.
Featured speakers will include leadership from the Louisiana Department of Education and the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE).
Cate Swinburn, the CEO of YouthForce NOLA, will provide a keynote address on advancing career-connected learning. Following the main event, local school system leaders will be invited to participate in continued dialogue with State officials and the YouthForce NOLA team.
