About this Event
Welcome to the 1940s Steam Weekend happening on October 19th & 20th at the Papplewick Pumping Station, 10am - 4pm! The pumping station will be filled with military and civilian re-enactors, displays, vehicles and trade stalls.
We will be treated to live entertainment from Jayne Darling & Kevin Mac (Saturday) and Johnny Victory & Lula May (Sunday).
All pumping engines will be in steam plus a full sized steam roller, the miniature railway and the 1922 Robey & Co winding engine. Tours of the underground reservoir also available (extra charges apply). Model boats will be sailing on the Cooling Pond add to the scenic atmosphere.
Our volunteers have been busy stocking the greenhouse with an array of plants available for purchase, perfect for filling any empty spots in your garden and the onsite café will be open to serve a variety of sandwiches, cakes, pies and ice creams.
Papplewick has all of this and more! Everyone is welcome, even the four-legged kind. See you there.
