About this Event
Looking for something fun to do on a Thursday night? Want to benefit a great cause? Look no further! Join us for a fun night of comedy to benefit Vernon Family Farm! Our comedians perform all over New England and are ready to bring the laughs. Your comedians for the evening are:
Host, Shawn Ruiz. Shawn Ruiz was a New Hampshire Rapper and DJ turned comic, who can also sell you a home as a Real Estate Agent. He finds jokes in every situation, because it’s free to laugh and he uses life situations to get his jokes for the people.
Co-Headliner, Jody Sloane. Growing up, Sloane had a knack for finding humor in the darkest corners of life. Whether it was the absurdity of a government cheese sculpture or the quirks of her mother’s self-medicating with Winstons and Ring Dings, nothing was off-limits for her infectious laughter-inducing commentary. Her friends quickly learned that any situation could become a comedy goldmine with her around. Fast forward to mid-life, Sloane cut her entertainment teeth doing her sit-down schtick as a cheeky conductor on the Boston duck tours. Her duck tour experience was the perfect tee up to becoming a standup comedian. She's now a regular at esteemed comedy venues from New York to Maine and has been featured in several comedy festivals, including Laugh Your Asheville Off, Boston Comedy Festival, and The Women In Comedy Festival. If you're ready to embrace the perversely hilarious, and you're not afraid to explore the comical underbelly of life, then Sloane is your guide. Get ready to indulge your inner imp and join Jody Sloane for a night of comedy that's delightfully twisted and wickedly entertaining.
Co-Headliner, Amy Tee. Amy offers a rare blend of wit and honesty, a winning combination that's made her a popular comedian on the national comedy touring circuit. "Not every crazy looks crazy!" Amy brings boyish charm and dry wit to her experiences with alcoholism, bi-polar disorder and, on the road to recovery, delivers comedy with stigma-busting honesty. Amy Tee happily uses her comedic act to serve as a mental wellness advocate as an approved IOOV (In Our Own Voice" Presenter for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Amy Tee is a regular performer at the Boston Comedy Festival and has been featured on Sirius XM Satellite Radio and the LOGO television network. She was named one of the "funniest lesbians in America" by Curve magazine.
