DESCRIPTION
Internationally acclaimed trauma expert Dr. Abi Blakeslee will share evidence-based and groundbreaking science of how accessing implicit memory is a key to our client’s long-lasting recovery. Somatic, or body-oriented, Psychology is a fast-growing paradigm that includes clinical interventions that focus attention and reprisal of our clients' psychophysiological responses in therapy. Interoception, or conscious awareness of bodily sensation, has a growing body of research demonstrating that connecting to and changing internal signals from the body to the brain increases emotional processing capacity for challenge and wellbeing. This workshop will have a combination of lectures, live and recorded demonstrations, and interactive practice exercises.
