Since 2009, we’ve celebrated the amazing life of Sandy Donaty, who valiantly fought rheumatoid arthritis for more than 45 years. We honor her memory at the annual Sandy Donaty Memorial Golf Tournament by raising funds — $165,775.73 so far in the tournament’s history — to help the Arthritis Foundation find a cure for all types of arthritis.For the 16th Annual Tournament, we have decided to split our proceeds to help support TWO special families, along with the Arthritis Foundation.
We will continue to support "Noah's Perfect Playground" in memory of little Noah Donovan, the son of our long time supporter and cousin, Dan and Rebecca Donovan. Please follow their page for more details and updates on a wonderful cause in memory of a very loved little boy! During our 15th Annual Sandy Donaty Memorial Golf Tournament, we were able to raise $7,698.64 towards "Noah's Perfect Playground"!
NEW this year, we will also be helping the Blackford Family with medical expenses. "When our son, Peyton, was about 5 years old, he began waking up in the middle of the night with extreme leg and joint pain. This pain continued and became more persistent. After numerous visits to our primary care and multiple years to figure out the cause, Peyton tested positive for a genetic mutation that is believed to have affected his joints and his thyroid (which he had removed when he was 8 years old). The genetic mutation is the only one to have ever been documented, so there is very little knowledge about the cause and how it affects the body. Our daughter Molly, who is 6, is now experiencing the same joint pain. It is our hope that with continued genetic testing, we can get down to the bottom of this specific mutation and help to alleviate the joint and muscle pain. Any funds raised would be such a huge help towards those costs for our family! We are so very grateful to the sweet Donaty family for thinking of us. We are humbled to even be considered for such a beautiful gift."
