16BL, a dynamic production and DJ duo hailing from the vibrant city of Amsterdam, has etched an indelible mark on the underground dance music scene since their inception in 2004. Guided by a profound passion for electronic music, their journey has been one of continuous evolution and artistic exploration.
In 2004, 16BL garnered recognition from the legendary Deep Dish, a pivotal moment that set the stage for their ascent. The duo swiftly made their mark by releasing a series of seminal tracks on Deep Dish's esteemed Shinichi imprint. This initial success served as a springboard, propelling them into a remarkable trajectory of creativity and innovation.
Notable highlights of their early career include the creation of three albums, with two collaborative endeavors originating from their residency at the revered club, Warung, in Brazil. This geographical inspiration deeply influenced their sonic identity, enriching their creative palette. 16BL has also graced the catalogs of numerous renowned record labels.
In recent years, Ariaan and Peter, the masterminds behind 16BL, have played a pivotal role in shaping the sonic landscape of the Anjuna Deep label. Their prolific output culminated in the release of the timeless underground anthem, "Deep in My Soul," in 2014, a track that continues to captivate and inspire audiences today.
Beyond their work as 16BL, Ariaan and Peter are also integral members of Cubicolor, a collaborative project featuring the multifaceted English singer-songwriter, Tim Digby Bell. Their artistry extends to music production and mixing for bands, soundtracks for cinematic and gaming experiences, as well as the cultivation of other artists' talents.
