A sextodecimo is the typographical measurement that underlies the construction of books and magazines, but for Corraini Edizioni Un Sedicesimo is a 16-page magazine entrusted to a different author each time.
To celebrate the Number 75, we're meeting you in New York, at the Salotto spaces, for an evening dedicated to the only editorial project that doesn't talk about graphics, but "does graphics".
Guest of the evening, together with Pietro Corraini, editor of the magazine, is Riccardo Vecchio, author of this new issue.
On the occasion of the event, an installation will be created with all the issues of Un Sedicesimo published to date.
UN SEDICESIMO 75
In 2022, as a recipient of an NYC Artist Corp Grant, Vecchio created 31 Degrees (Fahrenheit), a public project that aims to bring attention to issues of climate and environmental injustice.
The project title takes its name from a collaborative study that heat mapped several cities in North America. The study demonstrates how poor communities and communities of color are disproportionately negatively impacted by heat. And moreover, that climate inequality follows the same patterns of income inequality. The drawings, inspired by the work of Dürer and Altorfer, will be transformed into site specific murals to bring some arboreal beauty to neighborhoods where walls are more prevalent than trees.
