16 Hour Outdoor First Aid Training
Can include the 16 Hours Outdoor First Aid & Paediatric certificate for those working with children.
The syllabus and criteria of the training meets and satisfies the correct requirement for the outdoor learning and National Governing Body awards for outdoor education. Usual attendees are outdoor education leaders, activity instructors, mountain leaders as well as walking guides and nature therapists.

This is very practical outdoor first aid course where learners are taught and tested on many potential illnesses and injuries they may face in the outdoors and over the 2 days are assessed on the learnt knowledge which builds confidence to face emergency situations.

Parking:
There is no parking available on site, there is a car park directly outside the centre.
Please note that Dartmoor National Park now has parking charges for its car parks. The Ringo app is used but it’s advised to bring payment card rather than use the app due to poor signal.

Assessments:
Learners must be able to complete 2 minutes of CPR at floor level to pass the assessment. Learners will also be assessed on practical scenarios with a live casualty. There is no requirement for the learners to play casualty on this course.
At the end of day 2 there is a multiple-choice question paper to complete and pass to gain the Outdoor First Aid qualification.
* Some elements of the course will involve practical lessons outside so sensible clothing is advised.
* Fake blood maybe used for effects that does wash out.
* Participants may be paired with participants of the opposite sex for elements of training. This can be a discussed and adjustments made with the trainer prior to course starting if required.
