Celebrate the spirit of Oktoberfest and our local German heritage with an exclusive event at Körner’s Folly, Kernersville’s iconic landmark built in 1880 by the visionary artist and designer Jule Körner!Each year on the first Saturday of October, we bring together breweries, vineyards, and chefs to showcase their finest seasonal offerings in a festive fall atmosphere. Enjoy sampling beers, wines, and delicious food while supporting the preservation and restoration of Historic Körner’s Folly!
What to Expect
Local Breweries: Sip and sample from a selection of local breweries featuring a variety of craft beers. Whether you’re into seasonal festbiers, light lagers, bold IPAs, or something in between, there’s something to satisfy every beer lover’s taste. Your ticket includes a Körner’s Folly tasting glass to use (and reuse!) throughout the event, so you can easily sample the best brews of the day.
Delicious Local Cuisine: Local restaurants, chefs, and food vendors will set up to provide mouthwatering bites that pair perfectly with your beverage. From fresh-grilled bratwursts to sweet treats, enjoy a variety of German-inspired and seasonal dishes to complement your tasting experience.
Tasting Glasses: Each guest will receive a Körner’s Folly tasting glass, perfect for sampling beers from the participating breweries. Use your glass throughout the event to sample a wide variety of craft beers and discover new favorites.
Oktoberfest Fun: While the event centers great beverages and delicious food, you can also enjoy fun activities and contests throughout the day. Don your dirndl or lederhosen and show off your strength in stein-holding challenges, test your skill in speed-pretzel-eating, flex your vocabulary in the German Spelling Bee, and get down with polka tunes and party hits! Or, if you prefer, bring your lawn chair or picnic blanket and kick back on the beautiful grounds of the historic home!
Self-Guided Tour of Korner’s Folly: As part of your Oktoberfest experience, take a self-guided tour of Körner’s Folly starting at 1:30 pm before the event kicks off at 3 pm. Explore the 22 whimsical rooms at your own pace and discover the history and beautiful architecture of this historic landmark.
One Ticket Price Covers All: Your tasting glass and all food and beverage samples are included in ticket price. Self-Guided Tour Tickets are also included and may be redeemed during any public open hours during the month of October 2025.
Upgrade Your Experience: Snag an Oktoberfest T-Shirt for only $5 if your lederhosen is at the cleaner’s and show your support for Körner’s Folly year-round! Deluxe tasting glasses are also available for preorder in limited quantity.
This is Event is 21+ Only: Due to the nature of our ABC permit, this event is for those 21 years of age and up. Unfortunately, we cannot allow any exceptions (including infants in strollers or carriers). Officers from the Kernersville Police Department will be checking IDs at the door, so please come prepared with photo identification! No outside beverages, coolers, or containers are allowed. Parking is free at the John & Bobbie Wolfe Visitors Center and additional free parking will be available at nearby locations within walking distance.
