About :

Kara Grainger is an Australian born Guitarist and singer/songwriter. Her music career began in a small suburban town of Sydney Australia and since then has taken her on an incredible journey throughout the globe. Combining slide guitar, soulful vocals and a heartfelt approach to songwriting, Kara's truly unique sound will leave you uplifted, inspired and always wanting more.

In 2008 Kara signed to Australian label "Craving Records" and was invited to the US by producer David Kalish where she recorded her debut solo album. The recording entitled "Grand and Green River" received critical acclaim and remained in the top 30 of the Americana Charts for 38 straight weeks. Since then Kara has made three further albums whilst residing in the US. In 2011 "LA Blues" was recorded live at Studio City Sound. The cd paid tribute to some of Kara's earliest blues inspirations and in 2013 kara recorded and released"Shiver and Sigh" through Los Angeles record label "Eclecto Groove." The album was produced by grammy award winning producer David Z with some of LA's finest musicians, including Mike Finnigan, Hutch Hutchinson, James Gadson and Kirk Fletcher among others.

In the US Kara has performed at several Festivals such as 'The Portland Waterfront Blues Festival', 'Blues from the Top' in Colorado and "Austin City Limits". She has also opened the show for many extraordinary acts such as Peter Frampton, Buddy Guy,Taj Mahal and Jonny Lang, to name a few.

Papa Day Blues Band played their first gig together in 2017 on Father's Day and from then on, they became known as the Papa Day Blues Band. The band features longtime central California musicians Obie Dee (Sacramento Blues Society’s Hall of Fame) guitar and vocals, Mike Ward guitar and vocals, David Faria Sr. percussion, and Tony Passantino bass guitar and vocals. Obie Dee’s guitar skills and Mike Ward’s slide guitar and blues rock vibe combine for a great rockin’ blues groove. David Faria Sr. on drums and bass guitarist Tony Passantino keep the rhythm flowing for a complete exciting rockin' blues sound. Their playlist includes original music and tasty arrangements of Blues classics and Blues Rock standards.

Purchasing an Eventbrite ticket guarantees entry to event in case of a sell out. In advance does not guarantee parking, seating or express entry to any live music event at Swabbies. More than one band per day may/will be playing, tickets will be specific for band and times.

We advise early arrival for best seating and service times during possible sold-out events/standing room, etc. Expected food and service times during peak can be up to an hour. Again early arrival is suggested.

Refund Policy

Swabbies event tickets purchased at Eventbrite are non-refundable, with the following exceptions:

• Event cancelled due to weather: In the event of weather-related cancellation, Swabbies will EITHER refund the full purchase price and the service fee paid on the purchase, OR if the event is rescheduled for a later date, tickets will be honored at that time.
• Event cancelled due to Artist cancellation: In the event of an Artist-related cancellation due to illness or other unforeseen emergency, Swabbies will EITHER refund full ticket price and the service fee paid on purchase OR if the event is rescheduled for a later date, tickets will be honored at that time.
