Come and join us in celebration of Japanese music in the historical city of Prague. The ISFP presents traditional and contemporary music for the shakuhachi, koto, and Western instruments. Our festival takes place every two years and features concerts, unique learning opportunities, and an international symposium. Shakuhachi players and Japanese music lovers come together to share their enthusiasm for this unique instrument and its inspiring aesthetic.
THE SHAKUHACHI 5
Coming together from different traditions, the shakuhachi masters, Akihito Obama, Kizan Kawamura, Reison Kuroda, Akihisa Kominato, Ken-ichi Tajima, are currently unarguably one of the most dynamic hōgaku ensembles in the world.
