14th Annual Toys for Tots Tournament Rules:
MEN'S TOURNAMENT RULES:
*USA/ASA
*1 Strike, 1 Swing, 3 Pitch MAX
*Hit your own USA 52/300 balls
-Some used and new balls may be available for purchase
Used $3 New $6 (limited supply)
*USA/NSA bats (NO SENIOR BATS)
*NO ALTERING of the rules
*ILLEGAL PITCHES: Must be called OUT LOUD by the batter before the ball reaches the mat! FAILURE to do so will result in a strikeout if the ball strikes the mat. DO NOT ABUSE this rule, we all know what a strike should look like.

COED TOURNAMENT RULES:
USA Coed rules apply in addition to the tournament rules from the Men's tournament.
*Coed teams should be comprised of 5 men and 5 women.
-Coed teams MUST have a minimum of 4 women
-Coed will weave the girls in the batting order if only 4 women
-All GIRLS MUST PLAY THE FIELD, any position, regardless of 5/5 or 6/4. *i.e. You CANNOT sit a girl to play a 6/4 format.
*If you have female pitcher, you can't have a female catcher.
LAST MINUTE PICKUPS: I have always allowed pickups so that nobody must forfeit. Please do not take advantage of this rule. ONLY 9 players are needed to play. If you have 8, you should only pick up 1 player. Pickups must be approved by Mike Curry (or designated director) BEFORE the start of the game.
FREEDOM RUNNER: One FR bracelet per team may be purchased for $20. The runner who starts the games as the FR must finish the game as the runner. YOU CANNOT USE THE COURTESY RUNNER TO RUN FOR THE FR. -EVEN IF HE/SHE IS ON THE BASES and IT'S THEIR AT BAT.
COURTESY RUNNERS:
COED-We will follow USA softball rules...1 Male and 1 Female courtesy runner per inning.
MEN'S & COED: Since there is a option of a Freedom Runner and a Courtesy Runner, we will NOT allow a courtesy runner for the pitcher.
The same courtesy runner cannot run again for the same player in the same inning in the event your team bats around.
WINNERS BRACKET CHAMPION will have the choice of Home/Away. In the event of an "IF" game, a double coin flip will be used to determine home and away.

MENS: COED:
25 after 3 innings 20 after 3 innings
20 after 4 innings 15 after 4 innings
15 after 5 innings 10 after 5 innings
Explanation of the Rules for the 1 Strike, 1 Swing, 3 Pitch MAX:
Mats will be used. If any of the 3 pitches hit the mat and the batter doesn't swing, it's a strikeout. If no pitch hits the mat and the batter doesn't swing, it's a walk. Foul balls are OUTS. A 6' to 10' arc will be used. Police your own games.

***Just like the Complex in South Bend, we are lucky that the CCAC has donated the use of their facility this year. Please be respectful and appreciative. NO SMOKING/VAPING or DRINKING INSIDE THE COMPLEX! Parking lot only!!
I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO PLACE A VOLUNTEER UMPIRE ON ANY FIELD IF I START TO HEAR CONSISTENT or OUT OF CONTROL ARGUING! Get together and figure it out. We have been doing it this way for 13 years with very minimal problems. Let's keep it that way.
Prize Packages:
1st Place will receive a $175 gift card to Wings Etc. as well as champions mugs/ a team trophy/ and their team name added to the permanent trophy
2nd Place will receive a $100 gift card to Wings Etc. and a team trophy
3rd Place will receive a $75 gift card to Wings Etc. and a team trophy
4th Place will receive a $50 gift card to Wings Etc.
Michiana Chrysler Tournament MVP award will be given to the 1st place team to determine the winner
ALL PARTICIPANTS in the tournament will receive $5 of Wings Bucks for Wings Etc.
Tournament jerseys, long sleeves, and hoodies will be available. Pricing for this year has not yet been determined, but I am anticipating no changes from last year.

FINALLY...AND DEFINITYLY MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!
We MUST keep the drinking , smoking, and vaping in the parking lot! It is NO LONGER a REQUEST. Respect the gift that we have been given to use the CCAC this year and host one of the biggest tournaments in this area. We couldn't raise the funds that we do without it.
FIGHTING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! You will be asked to leave and not return.
