State Street Community Church will host its 14th Annual Thanksgiving Eve Community Dinner on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 209 State Street (corner of Linwood Avenue and State Street) in downtown LaPorte. The dinner is free and open to all; no reservations are required.
Each year, 250–350 neighbors gather to share a hot, homemade holiday meal. Guests can expect a traditional menu featuring turkey and ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, corn, rolls, cranberry sauce, and a variety of pies, cakes, and cookies. There is always plenty of food.
