Greetings, everyone! We are very excited to announce that the 13th DUMCS Inter-Year Moot Court Competition 2024-2025 will commence shortly. The Factsheet, Rules of the Competition and Schedule will all be released very soon. If you are interested to participate in the competition, register now!Dhaka University Moot Court Society (DUMCS) is the oldest moot court society in Bangladesh with an impeccable track-record. We have achieved many accolades in different national, regional and international competitions. To find the best of the mooters amongst Dhaka University Law Department students objectively, we organize an inter-year moot court competition each year. So, if you are interested in representing the University of Dhaka and Bangladesh in different national and international competitions, doing well in the Inter-year competition is the first step.
Who can participate?
Any student from the Law Department of the University of Dhaka in the 2nd to 4th year can participate in the competition. 1st year students can participate as ‘research interns’ and organizers, the forms of which will be released later.
Who can be your teammate?
You can team up with any student from your academic year. Hence, if you are in 2nd year now, your teammates will also have to be from 2nd year. Please note that cross-year teams are not allowed.
What will be the team composition?
An ideal team will consist of 2 oralists and 1 researcher. However, teams consisting of only 2 oralists and no researcher are allowed. Replacement/ Addition of team members will not be permitted except on very strong grounds and explicit permission of the Organizing Body for such action is needed. More than 1 registration of the same person is not allowed and only the first registration of the said person will be considered. Member positions (position of oralist and researcher) may be changed later on but only on reasonable grounds and after obtaining explicit permission from the Organizing body. Please note that only 1 person from each team needs to register.
What is the deadline for registration?
The deadline for registration for the competition is on 15th January (Wednesday) at 11:59 PM. Needless to say, the sooner you register, the better prepared you will be.
