Archaeologist aerial photographer tutor and local history expert Simon Tomson will give a talk on 13th Century Coastal Flooding at Theddlethorpe and the North Sea Basin.

On New Year’s Day 1287 a huge storm surge is reported to have washed away much of the town and port of Dunwich in Suffolk. Across the Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire Fens churches and villages were destroyed and much of the lower-lying land inundated by seawater. The church of Mablethorpe St Peter was lost "torn apart by the waves"

Learn more about how coastal flooding of the 13th Century shaped our history and landscape.

The Village Hall will be open from 6.30pm for food and drink with the talk starting at 7.30pm.
