Hello friends, family, and fellow patriots. It's that time of year again. Time to decorate your crusiers, lace up your running shoes, and come join the Johnson family for the 13th Annual 4th of July "Run for Mike"! Come help us spread a bit of patriotic spirit across the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. We will run/walk/ride the boardwalk with Old Glory in tow to celebrate our independence, and more importantly show support to all of our men and women who sacrifice so much to make this Nation something to be proud of. We will be keeping this event very simple. All you need to do is show up at the King Neptune statue at 8:30 am, American Flag in hand, ready to run/walk/ride a 5k.
We will provide small american flags and water. There is no registration required, no fancy set up, just some friends and family spreading some good ole fashion Patriotic Spirit. This run is in honor of my brother 1st LT Michael E. Johnson USMC who lost his life in battle in the Northern Kunar Provence of Afghanistan in September 2009.
This is a rain or shine event. We hope to see you there and please invite whomever you like. We can't wait to see you there!
