  1. What is jade?
  2. Chemical and physical properties of jadeite and nephrite
  3. Sources of jadeite and nephrite
  4. Mining of jadeite-jade in Burma
  5. Order of rarity of jade among other gemstones
  6. Treatment of jadeite-jade – B-jade, B+C-jade and C-jade.
  7. Discuss testing methods e.g. infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscope
  8. Basic testing of jade imitations using loupe, refractometer and prism spectroscopy.
