12/20/25 - 12/21/25 - 13th Annual Saint Petersburg Open Championship Just for this tournament, we will have extra prizes. The name of the winner will be put on a plaque in the chess club forever. The winner will have the title of 2025 Saint Petersburg Champion and will receive a big trophy. There are also other money prizes for winners (see below).
Registration will close once we reach 56 players.
Withdraws after registration closes will not be accepted.
Location: Saint Petersburg Chess Club, 540 4th Avenue, North Saint Petersburg, FL 33701 (it is located between Mirror Lake and the Coliseum). Free parking.
Entry Fee:
• $80 if paid by December 6
• $90 if paid by December 13
• $100 after that

USCF membership is required. Please check your USCF ID and renew it if it has expired. If you need me to do it on site, add $5 to your bill.
ROUNDS: Five rounds:
Saturday, 1st round at 10 am,2nd round at 1 pm, and 3rd round at 4 pm.
Sunday, 4th round at 10 am, and 5th round at 1 pm.
TIME CONTROL: G60; d10

PRIZES:
OPEN SECTION: If 20 players:
1st - $450 + the name of the winner will be put on a plaque in the chess club forever. The winner will have the title of 2025 Saint Petersburg Champion and will receive a big trophy.
2nd - $300
3rd - $150
U1900 - $150
UNDER 1800: If 20 players:
1st - $450 & 1st place trophy
2nd - $300
3rd - $150
U1500 - $150
UNDER 1300 SECTION: Trophies for 1st to 7th places. Medals for the rest of the players.
Blitz rated tournament G5; d2 Saturday at 7 pm.

ENTRY FEE:

3rd place: $60
U1400 – $60
If there are more than 30 players, the prizes are bigger.
