11th Annual Back to School Block Party

Our 11th Annual Back to School Block Party hosted by Genesis Outreach, Inc and community partners, South Gwinnett HS (Mr. Jordan (Principal) and Ms. Malloy, AP) and the Gwinnett County Public School System, Madam DA Patsy Austin-Gatson (Gwinnett County DA), Alpha Alpha Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc, NCNW of Gwinnett, Beta Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc, Emonie’s Closet, Zoar UMC Church, Feed My People, Hope for Life Foundation Inc, Gwinnett County Public Library, Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation, GRN Health Department, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Chick-Fil-A (Snellville), Fingerz, Bombas, Woodforest Bank, SGH Consulting and Supportive Services, Purposed-Life Coaching Services, as well as other local businesses and people that believe in the mission of Genesis Outreach Inc.

The event will begin at 10:00 am and will last until 2:00 p.m. and will include free covid test kits (while supplies last), free clothes/shoes (while supplies last), free bookbags and school supplies (while they last), games and activities, local food vendors, voter registration, community services, and vendors featuring commercial or hand-made products.

There will be barbers/hairstylists on-site providing free haircuts and hairstyles. This is ONLY FOR STUDENTS (PRE-K-12TH GRADE). HAIR MUST BE PRE-WASHED WITH NO CHEMICALS AND CLEAN. HAIR NOT PRE-WASHED OR CLEANED WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RECEIVE SERVICES FOR SANITARY PURPOSES.

The GNR Health Departments will be on-site. They will provide vaccines- Covid, Flu, School vaccines-Tdap and MenQ, B/P screenings, glucose screenings as well as nutritional and support information. GNR Teams will also include Women's Health-breast and cervical health- mammogram information, Community Health, School Health Information, Opioid Awareness, Narcan Kits Distribution. Services will be FREE for all uninsured attendees.

Please bring your CDC cards with you if you need Covid vaccinations done. The GNR Team can make new ones if you have misplaced or damaged your card. During Intake, patients will have their consent forms checked, GRITS search and CDC cards, insurance/ID cards scanned at the intake station. For Covid vaccines ID and insurance are not required, but if available, the intake staff will process it accordingly. Flu vaccines are covered under insurance. School vaccines are covered under health insurance or free VFC vaccines if the patient is under 19 and not insured or underinsured. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult to receive any vaccines.

B y attending this event, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

I am aware of the existence of the risk on my physical appearance to the venue and my participation to the Back-to-School Block Party that may cause injury or illness such as, but not limited to influenza, MRSA, or Covid-19 that may lead to paralysis or death. I have not experienced symptoms of fever, fatigue, difficulty breathing, or dry cough or exhibiting any other symptoms relating to Covid-19 or any communicable disease within the last 14 days. I have not, nor any member of my household have not been diagnosed or infected with Covid-19 within the last 30 days.

There will be media on-site. There will be pictures, articles, etc pertaining to you and/or your children taken and documented during thist time. We will not be held liable for any pictures or media releases. You understand by signing up for this event to agree to hold any and all parties affiliated with this event, free and harmless of any liability that may result from said event. I accept full responsibility for any such liability. I grant permission for myself/kids (if under age 18) to be photographed and/or videotaped for promotion, programs, successes, and other purposes related to media. I understand that the photos and videotapes are the property of the affiliates of this event.

I am fully and personally responsible for my own safety and that of everyone under the age of 18 in my household. I have read and understand the Liability Release Waiver and its content. I give my voluntary consent in participating in this event and sign at my own free act and deed. I release Genesis Outreach, Live Life Half Price, and all of its affiliates from any liability from my participation in this event and all members of my household.

Disclaimer: Genesis Outreach Inc and Live Life Half Price Back to School Event will be held at the South Gwinnett High School. By attending you hereby grant permission for these organizations and any of its vendors or affiliates to film the activities at the school for promotional purposes. You agree that your image may be used, still or in motion as part of the footage captured during the event.
