With the shutters tightly closed for winter and the house illuminated by flickering candles, we're recreating the spirit of Christmases past with decorations inspired by simple 17th century seasonal adornment, the exquisite handmade ornaments of the Victorian era and a touch of 1950s nostalgia.Discover figures from Claydon's fascinating four hundred year history, including the serving and waiting staff that looked after the house, the pirate Sir Francis Verney and Parthenope, sister of Florence Nightingale.
The second hand bookshop at Claydon House will be open for browsing, as well as the Courtyard at Claydon Estate with shops to browse and somewhere to grab a warm drink and a bite to eat.
