❓: What IS a Quarter Auction??!?
🅰️: Well this isn't any old Quarter Auction - this is the SRS PTO QA - So here's a quick overview 💥
ALL of the proceeds from this Annual Fundraiser go directly back to the children and teachers at SRS! Your ticket gets you entry, light refreshments and 2 paddles! Each paddle has a number. Ping pong balls with corresponding numbers are selected bingo style to win the 🔥 prizes 🔥
Auction items are introduced one by one to the crowd and are either a .25 cent bid ($25 value), .50 cent bid ($50 value), .75 cent bid ($75 value) or a dollar bid. 📣 All items over $100 are only $1 bid!!! That means the sporting event tickets and purses could be yours for $1.00‼️
You can choose to play, which means you put the amount of money for that bid into the pot. We have NHS students who collect the money. For instance, if you wanted a $25 Amazon gift card, you could play 1 paddle for .25 cents or 4 paddles for $1.00. We always say it's a quarter auction but bring those dollars!! It's up to you how many paddles (if any) you put into play for each item.
Once all people have had a chance to bid, the MC will call 'Paddles Up' and all people who have bid, raise their paddles. If you choose not to bid, you're out of play for that round. The balls are mixed up after each item is explained and one ball is selected - the paddle with the corresponding number wins if it's in play 🏓🎉
It's a really great night out for all adults - not just moms! We have a blast every year 🥳 There are no silly questions so ask away and we will try our best to better explain the event!
