IT'S OUR 10TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR!
Our Founder started The Ancestral Remembrance Celebration ten years ago in 2015. In 2021 we went from a small celebratory event to a full celebration with recognitions and a delicious dinner. This celebration remains the only one of its kind in Utah: an event which celebrates the historic accomplishments of our African American Ancestors, remembers them, and recognizes those who have pushed Black history forward in Utah.
This year our theme is EASE ON DOWN THE ROAD, celebrating the bravery and moving forward of the Ancestors as a new Middle Class was created with finally higher wages and better jobs, the purchase of a vehicle, and the going on vacation. Did you know that the suitcase industry had a huge increase because our African American Ancestors were taking vacations and traveling? Join us as we celebrate this joyful part of our history: the beginning of moving forward -- both physically and financially.

*Vegetarian Option: Etouffee w/chicken (MEATLESS MEAT)
*Collard Greens -- without meat
*Green Salad with tomatoes & cucumbers

*Drink – Red Drank (home made the old fashioned way)
*Dessert - Sweet Potato Pie (home made too, of course!)
Cost Per Person
$50.00 + $5.00 system fee coverage = $55.00 per person
(Thank you for covering the system fee so our non-profit 501c3 will have more money to continue our Black history research and make new exhibits to circulate Utah.)
