This event is open for BRRC Members and Visitors to complete either a 5k or 10k run on our normal 5k loop course beside the Brisbane River.
When registering for the 10km Handicap event, you will be asked to nominate the time you will complete the run.
Please be honest with your estimated 10km time - you may be disqualified from winning the 'Handicap' event if this differs significantly from the time you are capable of running 10km on the day.
Start time for the 10km Handicap event is based on your Estimated 10km time.
Members and visitors who have entered the 10K event will be advised their start time by email on Saturday night 30th December 2024.
Members and Visitors will also be able to view their start time online by clicking the appropriate button below or on the Home page from 25th November.
If your Estimated Time is longer than 1:12:00 then your Start Time will be 6.00AM - the same as for the 5km Runners.
Note:- an 8:00am 'cut-off time' applies to this event
Members and Visitors must pre-register online from the Monday prior to each event date, until 7pm on the Saturday night before the event.
No late entries will be accepted and you will not be able to register on the morning of the event.
Event Registration will open on Monday 25th November, and will close 7pm sharp on Saturday 30th November.
IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION - please read before you register
BRRC will be changing from the existing Shoe Tags to Race Bibs this year. Members will be allocated a Race Bib/Number to be used at all events this Year.
Please call at the Bib Collection/Uniform tent to exchange you shoe Tag for your Race Bib. The exchange of Tags for Bibs will be conducted progressively at events over the next few months.
Your Shoe Tag will continue to work with the Timing System until you exchange your Tag for a Bib.
Bring your own water bottles and breakfast. A table will be provided on the roadside near the start/finish line for water bottles. After run fruit (e.g. Bananas) will be provided by BRRC at the water tables near the start/finish line.
Please allow sufficient time to park & walk to the event, collect/exchange Timing Bibs, warm-up and be at the start line at 5:50am. The Pre-race Briefing and any other important safety messages will be delivered at start line prior to the start if needed.
ON RACE MORNING
If you require water during your run, place your water bottle on the tables near the start/finish line.
Toilets are located in Orleigh Park and the clubhouse.
Please ensure your timing Race Bib is attached to your shirt or Shoe Tag is attached towards the front of your shoe.
If you have not yet collected your timing Race Bib, be sure to arrive in time to collect it from the Bib Collect/Uniform tent.
If you have registered online and forget your timing Race Bib/Shoe Tag. Please call at the Bib Collection/Uniform tent and you can be issued a temporary 'Timing Bib' for the event, which is to be returned to the timing tent after your run.
Please note that a CUT-OFF TIME of 8:00AM applies to this event
At that time, the timing system will be switched off and all volunteers (including course marshals & drink station attendants) will begin packing up.
