About this Event
108 Sun Salutations for the Spring Equinox
Let your inner light shine with a challenging, mindful movement practice! Flow and celebrate life in honor of the Sun's energy. Modifications and variations will be offered - you know your body best, participants are encouraged to intuitively engage and rest as needed. All levels are welcome, it's an inclusive space.
What to Bring:
- Water
- Yoga mat and towel
- Comfortable/breathable attire
- Open heart and mind
Please arrive 15 minutes early to settle in and well nourished/hydrated: quality sleep the night prior, light breakfast or snack more than 2 hours before (7 AM) - it's ideal to practice on an empty stomach due to the intensity of the class, and a glass of water more than 30 minutes beforehand.
During the flow ~ allow the body to ease into the movements. Go at your own pace; showing up as you are is enough, there is no need to compare. Remember to breathe deep (diaphragmatic/intercostal) as you find your edges for growth. Be kind to your mind and body by honoring your limits and capacities.
Why 108? Ancient yogis believed the number represents wholeness in existence, there are 108 'sacred sites' in the body, and 108 energetic lines connect to form the heart chakra. By acknowledging the sacredness in all of existence, may we remember the sacred within and help others remember too.
The event is a soft launch of Soul Counseling LLC's Mutual Aid Program for Mental Health Services. Starting the Spring Equinox, Shannon is donating 1% of her income and at least 35% of the proceeds from donation-based events to the program. To kickstart the mutual aid assistance, 100% of the proceeds from this event are going to the program. After reaching a target goal ($600-$1200), Soul Counseling with Shannon will be collaborating with a nonprofit to allocate funds for an individual in need (gifting 5-10 therapy sessions).
In-person event in Las Vegas, NV. Location: Lone Mountain Park (open grass area), a confirmation text will be sent the day before.
