Join Amy and celebrate the Fall (Autumnal) Equinox with 108 Sun Salutations. Move with the breath, become more grounded and turn inward, preparing for the season of Autumn. Connect the mind and body for this cleansing and detoxifying practice in-community and feel the balanced energy of equal day and night.
108 is an auspicious number in the yogic tradition, symbolizing many things, including, 1=everything, 0=nothing, 8=infinity. We will be doing 4 sets of 27 Sun Salutations, with breaks in between for water and rest.
Some benefits of this practice include:
Moving energy - Sun Salutations heat the body and activate Prana (upward energy). Moving and creating the heat and Prana help move stuck energy and emotions.
Surrender - Resistance will appear during this practice. There will be a time where you start to wonder why you did it, but if you keep going, you will find a state of ease. Surrender to the process, acknowledge what arises emotionally, and then release those emotions into flowing movement and breath. Many experience feeling lighter and more energized at the end.
Modifications will be offered, and there is no requirement to do all 108 Sun Salutations. We will count and breathe together, grounding ourselves in connection and space to welcome the beginning of Fall.
