The Charlottesville Band is excited to return to PVCC's Dickinson Theater to open our 102nd season of free, live performances. Our Spring program will feature some new music as well as old favorites, and will also feature the winner of our 2024 James W. Simmons Solo Contest and Dr. Genevieve Murphy Scholarship - Annie Meng, playing the Concerto in Bb for Bassoon, by W.A. Mozart.We will also be performing with the 12 recipients of our Centennial Music Scholarship, providing private lessons to City and County middle school students. This year's recipients represent each instrument in the Band as well as all of the public middle schools in Charlottesville and Albemarle. They will be performing Gary Fagan's Cantabile and Festus Dance with the Band.
