This training consists in bringing the students to an acceptable level of confidence for the use of the machine and being able to complete a personal project on the lathe.
This training is given on an individual machine, the student will benefit from a more in-depth teaching on the specificities of uses of the milling machine.

Maximum of 2 participants per training + the trainer
A minimum of 2 participants to confirm the training

Theoretical portion
Avoid exchange of material as much as possible
Ensure that an individual lesson plan is provided for each student
Practical portion
Hand washing before the start of the practical portion
Sanitize machines before and after the practical portion
Hand cleaning after the practical portion

Practical elements:
●Turning the machine on/off
● Set the automatic cutting feed
● Set the turning speed
● Oiling the machine
● Safety and emergency brake
● Using measuring tools
● Make a simple part
● Outer diameter turning to a specific tolerance
● Facing to a specific tolerance
● Tapping with the tail stock chuck
● Manual hand tapping for finishing
● Selecting the right drill for tapping
● Cleaning the machine after use
The lathe does not have a digital readout: we will be using a dial indicator
Will be using automatic cutting with automatic feed and proper selection of speed and feeds.
After the training, the participant will have access to:
● The lathe as well as the cutting tools and accessories of the Orange section near the lathe (taught in this training) (with active LESPACEMAKER membership card):
Material provided with registration:
● All equipment is provided for training except for clothing and mandatory safety accessories.

101 | METAL: Introduction to the Workshop + initiation to use (uninitiated)
OR
101 PRO | METAL: Introduction to the Workshop + recognition of the acquired knowledge (initiated)
Mandatory clothing and safety accessories:
● Protective closed shoes with steel cap (slip-on steel toe caps accepted)
● Safety glasses
● Ear plugs or ear shells
● DO NOT wear loose clothing, gloves, neckties, scarves, rings, bracelets, or other jewelry that may become tangled in moving parts of a machine
● Long hair must be tied up
