101 | CERAMICS: Introduction to turning (Beginners)------------
This training will allow you to introduce yourself to the practice of wheel throwing in a small group (course for 2 students). The workshop includes the materials to produce 2-3 pieces, which you can pick up after they've been trimmed, fired, and glazed.
Theoretical elements:
- Types and consistencies of clay.
- Familiarization with the wheel and its tools.
- Steps for making a ceramic wheel-thrown piece.
Practical elements:
- Make a wheel-thrown piece.
- Prepare and then clean your work space optimally
Notes :
This course is the prerequisite for training 102 |Ceramics: Introduction to turning , where you will have the opportunity to learn how to trim your pieces, install handles, and prep your piece to be fired. You are not required to take the 102 |Ceramics: Introduction to Trimming course unless you would like to trim and finish your own pieces made in this first course. If you would like your pieces to be trimmed (cleaned up) for you, you will have to purchase the 'Trimming only' option from the 102-course tickets. You do not need to decide before taking this course and your instructor will explain your options at the end of taking the course.
Access :
This specialized training does not cover the use of the ceramic workshop at LESPACEMAKER and therefore cannot grant access to its participants. To do this, you must follow 101 |CERAMICS: Introduction to ceramics or equivalent recognition of prior learning .
