Ann McBrien is one of our 5kYourWay Ambassadors and is currently living with Stage 4 Breast Cancer. Ann has been on continuous cancer treatment every three weeks since July 2019, yet has continued to show up for every 5KYourWay and been instrumental in encouraging others to join us.
In April 2025, Ann hopes to have her 100th cancer treatment in the Northern Ireland Cancer Centre.
Ann explains, ‘’When I was first diagnosed I didn’t believe I would see this day. I am so grateful to my clinical team and have had great support from family and friends. I have also met many new people since my diagnosis and they have enriched my life, including those who attend 5kYourWay.’’
Ann’s plan is to mark her 100th cancer treatment with a challenge and a celebration.
Ann explains,- ‘‘My plan is to jog 100k over the next three months, running the final 5k as part of 5kYourWay in Ormeau Park on 29th March 2025 and celebrating with family, friends and cake!! I would love others to join me in this challenge and do 100YourWay-100 movements of any sort from 1 January 2025 to 29 March 2025.
