Learn about the rise and fall of Kane County’s only native ungulate over the 100 years of our Forest Preserve system, going from near extinction to overpopulation. Get to know the most iconic of the woodland mammals as we explore its place in our ecosystems and its natural life cycle. We’ll conclude the program by explaining how forest preserve agencies currently manage deer populations.

Taught by staff of these agencies or other top experts, LFEs offer insightful information about topics that impact Kane County. Ages 18 and above.
