About this Event
ABOUT 100 WOMEN BOOK CLUB
The 100 Women Book Club is a new initiative from 100 Women Who Care RI designed to unite Rhode Island women from diverse backgrounds. Our goal is to foster meaningful connections, promote learning, and encourage personal growth through the shared experience of reading and discussion.
Throughout 2025, we will host three book club meetings. These gatherings will be free and open to both 100 Women members and non-members, creating an inclusive atmosphere for all. Book club discussions will be a 1.5-hr experience that includes dedicated time for networking and facilitated discussion of the book and may include small group discussions to encourage more intimate and engaging conversations.
By creating this supportive space, 100 Women Who Care RI aims to strengthen community bonds, amplify women's voices, and provide an enriching environment for intellectual and personal growth.
OUR FIRST READ
Fighting for Our Friendships: The Science & Art of Conflict and Connection in Women's Relationships
In a time when we are often encouraged to opt out of friendships at any sign of friction, Danielle Bayard Jackson is showing us how to opt in.
Why are women's friendships so deep yet so fragile? Friendship coach and educator Danielle Bayard Jackson unpacks the latest research about women's cooperation and communication, while sharing practical strategies to preserve and strengthen these relationships.
Here are a few questions Fighting for Our Friendships will dig into:
- Three "affinities" that bring women together (and tear them apart)
- Navigating the most challenging "friend types" (and how to know which one you are)
- Covert strategies women use to hurt each other (and how to avoid them)
- How to have a hard conversation with a friend (without losing the friendship)
- How to know if a friendship is worth saving (and what to do to recover)
- How to make (and deepen!) connections with other women
We look forward to an interesting discussion at Rhodium!
