It's time for the annual 100 Ham Challenge! Now through December, hunt down those little Christmas hams for our food pantry; if you can find them (they've been scarcer these last few years). Now, through Christmas, we want to start getting those canned meats on our shelves! Additionally, it's been a really hard year. Many of us won't be buying a special gift for someone we love because they are no longer here. In honor of them, and of Jesus; the ultimate gift to us all (and whose birthday we celebrate) let us give our loved ones' favorite food items to the pantry! Maybe they had a thing for cereal or ramen (which are two of our top needed items). Maybe your grandmother was known for her Christmas cookies. Donate some flour, sugar, or oil! Maybe your aunt made the best sweet potato casserole; donate some canned yams and a bag of marshmallows! Maybe you didn't have a chance to change your baby's diapers because your precious little one went home to heaven (we need diapers of all sizes, pull-ups, and wipes).
The memories and food items are as endless as our holiday traditions! Whomever it is that you'll be missing this Christmas, give some cereal, ramen, canned ham, or any non-perishable food item that reminds you most of them or your holiday gatherings. Drop off your non-perishable donations during our business hours (9 AM - Noon & 1 PM - 3 PM, M-F) or in the food donation box at JB's Furniture on Center Street by Kroger.
We would also LOVE to hear your stories! Post about your loved one and those fun food and holiday memories! Tag us in the post/photo! If it's a public Facebook post, we'll share it on our page so we can all remember and celebrate them together! Thank you in advance for giving in Jesus Name!
