Since the beginning there was more in the DNA of Vargsheim than just pure Black Metal. A strong vibe of Grunge and also Classic Rock is essential for their style which combines many things, but never sounds like patchwork. Raw and melodic, harsh and atmospheric.

In their first album 'Non Est Deus,' they narrate the 'Historia Ecclesiastica Perversa' – the madness of history, dogmas, and rituals of the Roman Catholic Church. The lyrics are based on historical sources from church history. Musically, Apostasie incorporate elements from medieval music.
