This course offers a comprehensive introduction to hand building, blending sculpture with traditional ceramic techniques to help you bring your ideas to life in clay. Over these ten sessions, you’ll learn the foundations of pinching, coiling, and slab building, developing the skills to shape, join, and texture clay.You’ll discover how to form vessels, sculptural forms, and functional pieces while experimenting with surface decoration, texture, and finishing techniques. Whether you’re building a pinch pot, a coiled vase or assembling complex slab built structures, you’ll gain a solid understanding of clay’s behaviour and how to work with it. You will finish the course with a selection of your own work made by you from start to finish!
This course welcomes complete beginners and those with some experience looking to refresh their hand building skills. You’ll work in a small group of six with plenty of one to one guidance and time to refine your personal style.

The last 20 minutes of each class is for tidying and cleaning your wheel/workstation.
All materials and firings are included in the class fee, we supply aprons but please wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty! This course is for ages 14+.
