About this Event:
In this festival, the Green Shirt community will create, rehearse, and perform four new ten minute plays. This is a fun opportunity for members of our community to collaborate, try something new, and hone their craft.
How it Works:
Before signing up, please look at each role’s responsibilities and the dates you’d need to be available to participate. If you have any conflicts with the dates listed, please contact [email protected] before you sign-up to discuss your conflicts.
Role Responsibilities
Writers:
Attend Get Together
Have your first draft complete by Wednesday, February 22 and final draft completed Wednesday, March 1
Write a 10 minute play for 3 actors inspired by the theme of the festival! Your team will be assigned to you Green Shirt Artistic Director Jack Schultz so you know what actors you’re writing for
“Writing A Ten Minute Play 101” packet to come in a separate email. First time writers welcome
Directors:
Attend Get Together and all scheduled rehearsals
Direct! Help your actors get in touch with the story they’re telling. “Directing 101” packet to come in a separate email. First time directors welcome
Be the cheerleader and organizer for your team. Schedule any necessary meetings outside of preexisting rehearsals and keep communication flowing throughout the process
Actors:
Attend Get Together, all scheduled rehearsals, and performances
Act! Be a collaborative, open, excited actor
Do your best to come to your first rehearsal with your lines memorized
Schedule:
All actors and directors are expected to attend the dates shown below. Please double check your calendar with the festival calendar at the link below before signing up. There are 4 rehearsals and one live performance.
Required dates for all participants:
Get Together: Friday, March 3, 7pm
Rehearsal 2: Tuesday, March 7, evening
Rehearsal 3: Wednesday, March 8, evening
Tech Rehearsal: Thursday, March 9, 7-10pm
Performance Date: Saturday, March 11, 7pm
We regularly host these events. If your schedule conflicts with the above dates, we’d love to see you at the next one!
Who Can Participate?
All current and former Green Shirt students are invited to participate. There is no experience required to write, direct, or act.
Not a Former or Current Green Shirt Student?
